Two Chairs No Waiting

Mayberry fans know that 411 Elm Street is the addresses given for where Barney Fife lives.  Well, in this episode we’ll have some fun and learn some history of these here United States in the process.

The shooting of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas changed America’s innocence. People stopped what they were doing and mourned for days over the news of the shooting.

Popular TV programs like “The Andy Griffith Show” stopped filming for days.

“My Fair Ernest T. Bass” was the episode being filmed the week President Kennedy was assassinated. What an amazing tribute to the actors that the episode shows no signs of sadness from that event.

How can I tie Mayberry to this historical event? You’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out.

Love hearing the clips along with the discussion.

I definately remember the day Kennedy was assasinated, I was at school in the 5th grade when my teacher came into our room to make the announcement was living not to far from Dallas at the time. It affected everyone no mater what your political part…it was just unthinkable that this could happen at all. It dominated the news for several weeks with the unfolding events such as Lee Harvey Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby, etc. and the funeral broadcast live on tv is for ever etched in my mind. I learned only tonight that the Book Depository was at 411 Elm Street, unbleievable.
