We continue our interview with special guest Neal Brower as our guest.  Neal is a United Methodist minister, taught a course about The Andy Griffith Show at several colleges in North Carolina, and is the author of “Mayberry 101: Behind the Scenes of a TV Classic.”

In this episode we discuss the event held on September 30 and October 1, 1995 at the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Twenty cast members from “our hometown” gathered together to pay tribute to “The Andy Griffith Show” and share their experiences in Mayberry.

    Allan,

I found Two Chairs around episode 3 or 4 and back up and listened to the ones I missed so I have essentially been with you the whole year. Keep it up you are doing a great job. I look forward to you every week.

    Podcasts I like:

LifeChurch.tv’s Craig Groshel’s sermons are great!
John Eldridge and Ransomed Heart — a podcast for Christian men.
Stardate — about astronomy — been airing on public radio for years.
    StotyCorps — also on NPR.
The News from Lake Woebegon — Garrison Keillor — need I say more?

    Jenny,
We have at least one more Neal episode before we finish up. He also said he’ll come back for more interviewing. Thank you for listening!

Very interesting, once again. It is very fulfilling to hear these behind the scenes experiences. Like Neal said, you normally do not ever think you would ever get to meet any of the cast from TAGS and when it happens it is such a great experiece. This is very true, I missed getting to meet many of them, but I have met Howard Morris, Betty Lynn, Ronnie Shell, Jean Carson, Barbara Stuart and some others at an event in Pigeon Forge, TN …..and also David Browning and You Allan (although at the time I did not know who you were) That was a day I will never forget as long as I live.
    On to #52
