Two Chairs No Waiting

You may know the names of the Darling boys are Rodney (guitar), Doug (also called Jebbin – banjo), Mitch (bass) and Dean (also called Other – mandolin) but do you know where the name “Other” came from? I mean the name “Other” of course.

On this episode, we’ll find out.

We’ll also hear from a caller with a couple of corrections and additions to information about Don Knotts appearances on cartoons.

Ooops…I messed up during the show Dean was “Other” and I think I said that to begin with but later on said that Doug was “Other” which is NOT right. Doug’s character was “Jebbin” in that episode of The Andy Griffith Show. Sorry for the mistake.

I’ve got an early draft of the script for The Darlings Are Coming, and in it, the four boys are named Frankie, Jebbin, Ward and Cobb. The script also includes a “singing commercial” for hog food that The Darlings were supposed to have recorded for the episode!
