This is the first part of a series featuring our Mayberry friend, Maggie Peterson. Maggie played Charlene Darling but she did so much more. In this episode we hear about her life before Mayberry.
She grew up in Greeley, CO and she and her brother had a band called “The JaDa Quartet.” They played at several places around Colorado and eventually made it to New York where they were booked on several television series as musical guests. Andy’s manager, Richard Link, helped the group get the bookings and life was great. Listen, or watch, to hear the whole story.

We had a great time at the Two Chairs No Waiting Meetup over at the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival this past weekend. Not only did we get to gather as Mayberry fans and visit with each other, we got to see the documentary film by Chris Hudson, The Mayberry Effect. Chris has been working for almost 4 years on this film and he has done the fans of The Andy Griffith Show proud with his efforts

In the fourth and final installment of Professor Brower’s interview with Rodney and Doug Dillard, Mitch Jayne, Dean Webb, and Maggie Peterson we start off with the divorce proceedings of Charlene Darling and hear from Maggie Peterson. In the third installment of we experience the third part of this four part series featuring Neal Brower’s interview with Rodney and Doug Dillard, Mitch Jayne, Dean Webb, and Maggie Peterson. This interview was recorded at Neal’s “Professor Brower’s Class” held during Mayberry Days 2004 in Mt. Airy, NC.

The response to our last series of Neal Brower interviewing Elinor Donahue was so well received that I wanted to share more with you from Neal. This time we join him at Mayberry Days 2004 and his interview with the Darling boy (the Original Dillards) and Charlene (Maggie Peterson). This is going to be a four part series with Professor Brower and The Darlings.
This episode we get to know the men who make up the Darling family just a bit better by finding out their history as The Dillards before they arrived in Mayberry, NC. Doug, Rodney, Dean & Mitch tell stories about when they began to play music, how they started playing together and so much more.
Funny stories, smiles, laughter…..that’s what you have to look forward to and that’s just in part 1.

We’ve been having some great fun looking back to the 1995 Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous the last couple of episode and we continue right along with this weeks show.
We hard from Maggie and Hoke (a.k.a. Charlene and Dud) individually last episode but this week we get to hear them as they sit on stage together and share more Mayberry memories with fans.
