Helen Crump (Aneta Corsaut) moved to Mayberry from her native Kansas City. She majored in journalism and did her master's thesis on organized crime. She has written a book titled Amusing Tales for Tiny Tots under the pseudonym of Helene Alexion Dubois.
Helen has always had a way with words. She even won the Kansas spelling bee state championship in the eighth grade by spelling Hors d'oeuvres. Today, "Old Lady Crump" (as her students first called her) is the definition of Mayberry's finest teacher.
