When Goober returns from a hunting trip with a beard, the whole town is fascinated ("Goober Makes History," Episode #146). He looks so intellectual. Suddenly, Goober believes he is indeed newly brilliant. He is soon in touch with the "I that I am" and proceeds to bore everybody and everything in town - from members of his adult history class to a tomato.
the beard, though is the same ol' Goober that everyone loves. It doesn't take long for him to shine through.
