March 13, 2006 - Msg 3512: A few years ago my family and I were at MGM Studios at Disney World. Don Knotts was there to put his handprints in the cement and afterward he was interviewed and the audienced asked him questions. As he finished answering a question I couldn't help my self and yelled - ATTA BOY LUTHER! which got him very tickled. He then went on to express how much he loved making the movie:The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. He was a wonderful man and my family and I will miss him! Jeff

March 13, 2006 - Msg 3513: Don Knotts was, and still is, tops!
We'll miss you Don!

March 13, 2006 - Msg 3514: My favorite Barney scene was when he attempted to recite the preamble ...the way he mussed his hair. But after Andy had practically recited it for him, Barney was still proud at the end, convinced that he had memorized the entire thing. My other favorite was when Barney testified about how Andy was incompetent to the newspaper reporter. But he eventually realized what a great friend and sheriff Andy really was. It was one of Don's truly great serious scenes and showed his wonderful versitility.

March 13, 2006 - Msg 3515: I really can't think of my favorite scenes, because I liked them all. Don and Andy complimented each other so well there will never be a team like that again. March 13, 2006 - Msg 3530: Don Knotts will be missed but not forgotten, my prayers are with his family. And I know how hard it is to losse someone you love.

March 13, 2006 - Msg 3531: I have been a Don Knott's fan for many years. Barney was my favorite character that he played. No one, besides my husband, ever made me laugh like "Barney". Because my husband and I have the same sense of humor, We both love The Andy show.We can watch the same episodes over and over and laugh again and again. I have never met Don Knotts personally, but I would've liked to sit on the front porch and talk to him about "one thing and then another". I know he is truly in the Lord's care, and I like to think that he's gone "uptown to get a bottle-o-pop", and this comes from my heart. I have so many favorite episodes, like the one where he was dressed as a mannequin and when he was the Indian chief in the play not to mention the choir episodes.I could go on and on. I can't think of Don Knotts without smiling. He will always be alive to me. He will always be our "Mr.Fixit".Lisa Mailloux(Weare,N.H.)

March 13, 2006 - Msg 3534: I first read of Don Knott's death on my birthday, and I was so saddened. Don playing Barney was a work of a genius. When I needed to get away from my problems, I would watch Andy and Barney. I am a collector of Mayberry trivia and I will treasure my collection always. The show had such true values and taught important lessons and I hope that future generations will continue watching, and hopefully learn from it. God Bless You Don Knotts and your family. Thank you for all the laughs, the joy and the priviledge to have been a fan of yours for years and will continue to be. You will always be alive in our hearts as we continue to watch The Andy Griffith Show. Thanks for the memories. Judy

March 14, 2006 - Msg 3535: Bernard Milton/Oliver/P Fife, almost descendant of Duncan Phyfe - you were the seasoning for the Andy Griffith Show. Mayberry lost its flavor when you went away. Trouble checks will never be the same. If you see Mrs. Bendlemright in Heaven, help her find her veloose. God bless you, Don Knotts. We'll miss you. (Wouldn't you just know his name would be Don?)

March 14, 2006 - Msg 3536: Barney, you're so swaave and know just about everything there is to know about girls! God Bless and thanks for the greatest show of all time. When I die I want to go to Mayberry. Susan

March 14, 2006 - Msg 3537: Every once in a while magic occurs between characters in a television show or a movie. It goes far beyond the acting capability of the talent and I really believe it's actual chemistry between people. Don Knotts and Andy Griffith had that chemistry. Todays production companies could learn a great lesson from shows like the Andy Griffith Show. Not a curse word was ever spoken. No violence ever occurred and above all else the show was not only entertaining but spiritual as well.
God bless you Don and Andy and thanks for all the simple life lessons learned all presented in a classy manner.

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3604: March 17, 2006 Msg3601: Barney will sadly be missed by young, old, and yet to be born fans. Barneyism are part of Americana. Barney was always telling his fellow and lady Marberryians to nip it in the bud. Barney Fife and his infamous bullet in the pocket have fired their final salute. God Bless Don "AKA Barney Fife" Knotts. From All The Goobers in Lincolnton, NC.

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3605: March 17, 2006 Msg3604-Before Don "Barney Fife" Knotts gets his wings? You can rest assured that St. Peter will not be inviting his to sing in the Heavenly choir. As Thelma Lou reminded us in the episode in which Barney sang in the chorus, I love him but Barney can't sing. May your Heavenly voice be full of joyful psalms of praise and Thanksgiving throughout enternity. Through your earthy presence is gone, you will live on in Heaven via enternal life and on earth thanks to reruns on television. You will sadly missed.

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3606: Bernard P. Fife, a character never to be duplicated - A real credit to comedy! There's not a day goes bye when I don't compare my life with an Andy Griffith episode. "I hope Heaven to be another Mayberry", MY HOME TOWN!

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3607: Don you brought so much joy and laughter to me and my family. It was great to see such wit and charm on tv. Barney is and will forever be the best character on tv. You'll be forever missed. God Bless you and your family.

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3608: Thank you Don Knotts for bringing us Barney and MANY years of laughs and happiness in all you did. Back to the days of the Ghost and Mr. Chicken, How to Frame a Fig etc. you will always be THE GREATEST!! Your family has my prayers for the lonely place that is left in your passing and may you and the great work you did always live on in the reruns. Tennessee

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3609: The situation comedy doesn't have the same respect as motion picture comedies, but Don Knotts was on a par with Chaplin, Harold Lloyd and Stan Laurel, not to mention the best work of Jerry Lewis, Jack Lemmon and Peter Sellers. We were priviliged...Jensen Orthopedic Shoes Chapter, TAGSRWC

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3610: with the grief i feel for the passing of you, Mr. Knotts, also comes the joy that you shared, so unselfishly, your life with all of us that will hold you highest regards. we wouldn't grieve if we hadn't loved. rest in peace, at the right hand of the Lord.

March 17, 2006 - Msg 3611: Thanks to ALL of the Mayberry family, where ever they may be. Many hours have been spent watching GOOD, CLEAN tv in my house. There will never be another Barney, Andy, Otis,Floyd, Aunt Bee, Opie--We will forever miss ya,Barn!

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3612: Thanks Don for all the laughs and wonderful times. The fifester rocks!

When you're feeling gloomy
and life's got you down
just remember you've got friends
in a special little town
Mayberry has the people
that will make you smile
so kick off your shoes
and stay a while
You'll nip it in the bud
with good ole Barney Fife
who will give you a lesson
on almost anything in life
Sheriff Taylor is the man
who knows right from wrong
and when he's not too busy
he'll sing you a song
Opie's his son
whom we love to adore
we share in his adventures
but we always want more
When we start to get hungry
we think of motherly Aunt Bea
except for pickles
her cooking is for me
And if your car needs fixin
there's Gomer and Goob
who'll be more than happier
to give it a lube
You can also visit Floyd
to slow down your day
he'll clip your hair
with very little to pay
So when you want to get away
to some place that is merry
all you have to do
is visit Mayberry

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3613: Don Knotts was, and always will be one of the greatest comedic talents we have ever known. Eventhough we have all seen the same episodes hundreds of times they still make us laugh like we are seeing them for the first time. Don is one of the first people that I want to meet in Heaven and I hope he is either in his uniform or the "old salt & pepper suit." You will be greatly missed...

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3614: 'Bye, Bernie. Our love for you is as enduring as your own legend. There could never be another Bernard P. Fife. And we can't forget you....

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3618: we will miss, but not forget you!

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3619: From Barney Fife to Mr Furley, you had us by our heart, and you will missed very much!

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3620: Message 3612 says it all. Very nice.

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3621: I grew up watching re-runs with my dad. I loved Barney Fife at the age of 10 years old and today i still watch the show all the time. Currently i am in Iraq and when i am down over here, i put in the Andy Griffith Show to bring my spirits up. God bless Don Knotts, the best comedian to walk the face of the earth.

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3622: I'm 55. I grew up watching TAGS. Thank you for being part of my life, if only in TV. May you rest in eternal peace.

March 18, 2006 - Msg 3623: You were a big part of my life growing up, Don. The 60s comedy movies, as well as the Andy Griffith show, all give me happy memories. Thank you for enriching our lives with your talent and life.

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3624: I couldn't say it any better than message 3612--thank you for organizing my thoughts. God Bless You!

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3625: Simply Put: Don Knotts was a True Hero.

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3626: The antics of Barney and even Opie have helped shape who “Santa Claus” is himself, (more on that later). Opie and I were close in age and when I watched Opie and Andy "nervous" about their dance skills, why they helped ME prepare for my school dance and other live events. And I loved Don Knotts’ portrayal of Barney so much, that it’s given me as a public speaker, the motivation in my own comedic work now, as I perform in national TV ads as Santa. When I speak all year, sporting a full white beard and Santa clothing, I enlighten my audience that there is ONE Santa-Approved “Best” TV show ever created and it's the Andy Griffith Show. I explain that at the North Pole we use satellite-TV, and Santa always watches America's most loved show. In Dec 05, when I appeared in TV ads with Garth Brooks for Wal-Mart toy sales, my love of Don Knotts’ work kept inspiring my own comedic slant as Santa. So... Mr Knotts, Goodbye to you my entertainment mentor; you were valuable in creating a loving Mayberry, a witty America, and a kinder Universe. Bye from Santa-Ricky Baldwin.

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3627: andy griffith show no!!! it should be the don knotts show

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3629: If I had a penny for every time you made me smile,
and a nackel for every time you made me laugh,
I'd be the richest man in mayberry.
On second thought, I beleive I am.
Thanks for all of it, Don, R.I.P. - B.A.P.

March 19, 2006 - Msg 3633: When I was very young, every afternoon I would sit in my dad's lap to watch the double epesodes of "The Barney and Andy Show", as I called it. Barney was always my favorite. It didn't matter the situation he would make me laugh. My dad said, and I agree, after some one spends so much time in your living room, he becomes a good friend. Well, Don became one of my best friends. Everybody needs a friend like Barney in their living room !!

March 20, 2006 - Msg 3644: Don Knotts was a genius when it came to comedy. I doubt there will be another like him. He and the rest of the cast of TAGS really "clicked" together, like no other show. Ditto on Message 3635. He will be greatly missed. Goodbye, and God Bless.

March 20, 2006 - Msg 3645: We had the priviledge of meeting Don in Nashville, Tn. a couple of years ago at the Mayberry Reunion and I can remember waiting in line at the autograph signing event and hearing the event person tell everyone that Don would probably not be signing autographs long and not to ask him questions, etc... When we got to Don, he was so kind to us, hugging my wife and poising for a picture with her, and signing everything in our hands. We went away so impressed with his kindness.....He just made our whole year! By the way, Don was signing autographs 3 hours later! The Andy Griffith Show and all the cast are the way I want to remember America, the real America. God bless you Don, Andy, and all the cast. Philip & Stephney. Sardis City, Al.

March 21, 2006 - Msg 3652: As a 34 year old father of 2 I am happy to be able to watch TAGS with my kids. My son who is 8 even appreciates the good moral message that all of the episodes have. March 21, 2006 - Msg 3657: The mark man leaves on life is measured by the amount of friends he has. Don Knotts, as seen here was a very rich man and left an unimaginable mark. His legacy will be studied by up and coming actors and actresses but no one may never find that one true ingrediant that Don had, being himself on and off the stage. To Don, his roles appeared easy but the knack for perfection is what he strived for. As everyone has said, Barney you'll be missed but never forgot! Good job -Mayberry One, over and out!

March 21, 2006 - Msg 3658: March 21,2006. Five Emmys for his work on the Andy Griffith Show says it all. Don was one of the best comics of this or any other generation. His talents will be sorely missed. My wife and I feel like we have lost a very close friend. But Don left an enormous body or work and he will live on through the shows and movies he worked in as his legacy. I can see Don,now. At the Pearly Gates. Saluting Saint Peter. March 22, 2006 - Msg 3667: I grew up in a small town in the '60s similar to Mayberry, and have always enjoyed the simplicity of that era. I was raised by the simple golden rules of life by that show, and raised my two sons in the '80s watching this wonderful, heartwarming show. My brother and I are eternal Mayberry fans, and take great joy in knowing tons of trivia. We have been to the Mayberry days in Mt Airy, NC, and I even have "Mayberry" themed parties in my home. I will miss Barney forever...he was the best!!!

March 22, 2006 - Msg 3668: I loved Barney. Actually we loved this show some much we named each of our pets after a character on the show. I watch everyday I am home to catch it. Bought a collection of the shows on DVD. Such a great show, so down to earth, with good morals and values. Mayberry was an ideal town, Barney was a big part of that. Thanks Barn and Ang!

March 23, 2006 - Msg 3673: I had most of the episodes of TAGS on tapes. Thank goodness for DVDs.
