Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

This is our 150th podcast so I was trying to find something special to do in order to mark the occasion.

What could be more special than hearing from Andy Griffith himself.  DON’T GET EXCITED….he isn’t going to be ON the podcast but his words will be here for us all to hear.

Back in November 1996 Andy wrote an article in Guidepost titled “Journey to Health.”  It’s an uplifting story about his struggles with Guillain-Barre syndrome and how, with the help of his wife Cindi, he has overcome and dealt with his pain.

The road to Matlock went through this trying time but Andy Griffith was able to pass through the darkness he was suffering and into the light.

I hope you enjoy this wonderful story as you celebrate our 150th episode.

Allan, my parents have subscribed to Guideposts for many years, and I remember reading that article by Andy when it came out. It’s interesting on two levels — it tells us something of Andy Griffith’s faith in the Lord, and it also opens a window onto the life of a very private man, revealing things that we might otherwise not have known.

Now, this reminds me of something else. I’ve been waiting for Andy’s autobiography to come out, as have many others. I suppose if you had any information about that, you would have shared it on the digest, but I’ll take this opportunity to ask anyway. Do you know why the book has not been released on schedule and when we might expect it to be available?

Thanks, Allan. I really enjoyed the podcast.

This was very interesting, hearing words from “The Man” Andy himself. Very uplifting and like Janet said in her comments, a rare look into the life of a very private person. He must have know that his story would be an inspiration to others. Great Podcast.
