The Surry Arts Council has been having an auction of items that belonged to Betty Lynn<\/strong>, Mayberry’s own Thelma Lou, in order to raise money for the arts in Mt. Airy, NC. The auction just ended but it brought to mind the impact that Betty had on the city of Mt. Airy during the time she lived in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found this article about Betty moving to “Mayberry” that I’m sure you’ll enjoy. She was such a wonderful person to be around and is greatly missed but her legacy certainly lives on every time we watch The Andy Griffith Show<\/em> and also in support of the arts in Mt. Airy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
