On a recent trip to TAGS<\/em>RWC<\/strong> HQ in Nashville, I was presented a tub full of articles, papers, stories, and more. As I was going though the papers, I found a great story from 1994 sent into TAGS<\/em>RWC<\/strong> HQ by The Mayberry Texans<\/em> chapter. It was about Pilot Mountain, or as Mayberry fans know it best, Pilot Mountain, N.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This history lesson for both the fictional Mt. Pilot and the actual Pilot Mountain is something I believe fans will enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This being Independence Day week here in the U.S.A., I did a little research on characters and actors from The Andy Griffith Show<\/em><\/strong> to try and determine those that had served in the military. I realize that July 4th is not really about honoring our military but I figure there’s never a bad time to do so. I’ll present what I learned and ask for all of you to help me crowdsource information on cast and crew to develop a more complete list that we can publish on the Mayberry.info<\/a> site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll go over some fun trivia questions as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
