I received a question from \u201cWho\u2019s Been Messin\u2019 Up the Bulletin Board<\/em>?\u201d Chapter member, Larry Grainger asking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you or some of your listeners know what this line means, from \u201cCitizens Arrest?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANDY:<\/strong> Yeah. Misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. Drove down main street with a cutout open and a real flying cloud.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t immediately recognize that line of dialog, you can be forgiven\u2026.mainly because I didn\u2019t remember it myself so if you don\u2019t recall it right away, I\u2019ll feel better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quote kicks off from the first scene of Season 4, Episode 11, called \u201cCitizen\u2019s Arrest<\/em>\u201d (it first aired back on December 2, 1963, which is a whopping 63 years ago from when this podcast drops). In this episode, Deputy Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts<\/strong>, is digging through some dusty old arrest records from past Mayberry sheriffs at the courthouse. He starts reading out loud one of those old misdemeanor charges from way back when.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
