Tonight we’ll be hearing about a lady named Lee Canon and her brother Richard “Doc” Ferrara. I’m sure you’re asking, who are the Ferrara siblings and what’s this got to do with The Andy Griffith Show.<\/p>\n

Lee Cannon’s first job was as a home economics teacher in Osage, a community near Cannon’s hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia.<\/p>\n

It was also there in West Virginia’s coal country that Cannon’s brother Dr. Richard Ferrara first took banjo lessons from the famous banjoist Eddie Peabody. Doc’s biggest fan was Don Knotts of Andy Griffith fame, his best friend since middle school when the two started playing music together.<\/p>\n
