George “Goober” Lindsey was a wonderful man and a great friend to so many of the fans of The Andy Griffith Show. I tell you this so you’ll understand what you’re about to hear\/see in this episode of Two Chairs.<\/p>\n

Each year, several of George’s friends would gather in Nashville and take George out to eat to celebrate his birthday. It started as a small group but over the years it grew into quite a large gathering.\u00a0 The meal was at lunch time and most of those present would gather at the home of Jim Clark, TAGSRWC presiding Goober, to shower George with gag gifts and adoration.<\/p>\n

Following the gifts, George would often bless those in attendance with memories of Mayberry and some words of wisdom from “The Goob.” He did just that in this recording from 2010 and I know you’re going to enjoy hearing George as well as those present commenting on Mayberry, quoting episodes, Gunsmoke, Alfred Hitchcock, and so much more.<\/p>\n
