Wow, this is going to be fun time in Mt. Airy!\u00a0 I never expected to be able to meet<\/span>–up<\/span> with so many of you next weekend (19-21 July 2013).<\/p>\n

I’ll list at the bottom of the e-mail all those I have been told are planning to be in Mt. Airy with us so you will know who’s attending.\u00a0\u00a0 If you know of others that I’ve somehow missed, PLEASE let me know!<\/p>\n

I’m putting out a “schedule” of things to do but PLEASE realize that nothing is mandatory and nobody will have hurt feelings if you choose to do other things during the times.<\/i>\u00a0 I’m just trying to let folks know where I will be and inviting you all to join me if it fits your schedule.<\/p>\n

\u00a0== Friday Schedule ==<\/b><\/p>\n

12:30 – 4:00 pm
\n— Andy Griffith Museum to Meet<\/span> Thelma Lou, Betty Lynn, and tour the museum\/visit with fans.
\n— Get a group photo by the Andy & Opie statue at some point.<\/p>\n

4:00 – 8:30 pm
\n— Free time. Go out with friends or alone to get something to eat or whatever you might like to do.<\/p>\n

8:30 – 11:00 pm (or later)
\n— Gather at the Mayberry<\/span> Motor Inn in the gazebo area (you don’t have to be staying there to come over and visit).
\n— Bring sodas, tea, punch and some snacks if you have ’em.
\n— BRING lawn chairs if you have ’em. (There are some chairs at the gazebo but to be safe, bring your own.)
\n— Watch episodes of The Andy Griffith Show together on a screen under the stars.
\n— Visit with friends.
\n— Maybe record a podcast episode together.\u00a0 Think about a good quote about what Mayberry<\/span> means to you and I’ll record you guys telling us one at time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0== Saturday Schedule ==<\/b><\/p>\n

When you wake – 12:30 pm<\/p>\n

— Visit downtown Mt. Airy. Pick and choose
\n— Snappy Lunch (breakfast, lunch, or both – closes at 1:15 so eat early)
\n— Drop by Floyd’s City Barber Shop
\n— Visit shops on Main Street (be sure to visit Mayberry<\/span> on Main)
\n— Ice Cream at Barney’s
\n— Mayberry<\/span> Squad Car Tours starting at Wally’s (30 minute ride)
\n— Visit Main Oak Emporium (Mayberry<\/span> Jail & Taylor’s front porch photo locations)<\/p>\n

1:00 pm<\/p>\n

— Gather at Mayberry<\/span> Motor Inn for trip to the Old Mayberry<\/span> Trading Post & Mabry Mill in Meadows of Dan, VA (about a 50 minute trip north of Mt. Ariy on the Blue Ridge Parkway).
\n— I think we’ll visit both for an hour or so each. (more or less as needed)
\n— We’ll pass over Mayberry<\/span> Creek on the Blue Ridge Parkway.\u00a0 Hopefully we’ll spot the sign and can stop for a photo at the sigh.<\/p>\n

~5:00 pm<\/p>\n

— Start back to Mt. Airy or maybe we could eat at the Mabry Mills Resturant. We’ll decide on the fly.\u00a0 (https:\/\/www.mabrymillrestaurant.com\/.shtml<\/a>)<\/p>\n

(ALTERNATIVES for those not wanting to visit VA)<\/i><\/p>\n
