This is the first of a two part series featuring an interview with Bernard Fox, Mayberry’s very own bicycle riding “Englishster” Malcolm Merriweather. This interview was recorded 1998 at the 6th Annual Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous held in the middle of a corn field near the town of Bradford, OH.<\/p>\n

Though he was only in three episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, “Malcolm” is one of the most memorable visitors to Mayberry. Of course, I have to admit that for a long time Malcolm wasn’t the first role I thought of when Bernard Fox was mentioned. The role that many outside of Mayberry most likely remember him as would be as Dr. Bombay, the warlock doctor on Bewitched. Malcolm and Dr. Bombay are but two of the MANY roles played by this amazing actor.<\/p>\n
