You may know that Mayor Pike had a daughter but did you realize they were twins? In recent research of episodes I realized that it is possible that Mayberry’s own Mayor Pike had twin girls PLUS he has a 3rd daughter that I don’t believe we ever met during an episode.

Looking into this also lead to my researching of one of the two episodes containing the girls I’m calling the Pike twins. In the first of those episodes, Mayberry Goes Hollywood<\/em>, the town folk were planning to cut down the old oak tree. Mr. Harmon asked the Mayor why they were cutting it down and he said it was full of “twig girdlers.” What is a “twig girdler?” You’ll find out.
