Cort Howell is the son of Hoke Howell who played Dud Wash. Dud was Charlene’s husband who had been trained in gorilla warfare in the Army from which he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class. When Dud returned to Mayberry he still had all of Charlene’s letters, her hair ribbon, and the remainders of a mountain gladiola she’d given him proving he was “the sweetest boy whatever grow’d.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cort is one of the producers of the upcoming Mayberry Man movie. He’s working along side his brother Stark who wrote the Mayberry Man script and will be directing and Greg Schell, the son of Ronnie Schell, to bring the movie to the fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
