The “This Week in Mayberry History<\/strong><\/em>” report inspired me to look into the episode “Bailey’s Bad Boy<\/strong><\/em>” more closely. We see Opie learn a lesson about paying his own way. When he makes a mistake, he needs to stand on his own two feet and meet the responsibility associated with what he’s done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an episode that we may be able to learn from and Ron Bailey certainly did. How many shows today have the courage to express the opinion that having everything given to someone, while generous, may not be for the best in the long term. I can’t really think of any. Thank goodness for the lessons of The Andy Griffith Show<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
