The Mayberry Man<\/a><\/strong> movie is just about to be released and it’s kind of amazing to me how many fans of The Andy Griffith Show<\/strong><\/em> still believe the movie is some type of remake of the series. As the title of this episode states, it is not a remake. This past weekend I spent a good deal of time on different social media sites talking with fans and trying to help them understand that the movie was made for Mayberry fans by Mayberry fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s no big “Hollywood” studio behind the movie precisely to avoid the filmmaker being told what could or could not be in the movie. Mayberry Man<\/a><\/strong> does its best to capture the spirit of what made The Andy Griffith Show<\/em><\/strong> so special. It doesn’t try to be a remake but rather tries to bring that feeling back to the viewer by telling a new story with roots in Mayberry. I hope fans will give it a chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll also hear a poem from Ronnie Felker called “Floyd’s Barbershop<\/em>” that I think you’ll enjoy. Ronnie is a Barney Fife tribute artist out of South Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
