On October 3, 1960, a man and his son walking to the fishing hole first appeared on our televisions with that happy whistling tune. The Andy Griffith Show <\/strong><\/em>has not been off the airways since that date and is usually on several times per day in most television markets. Pluto.TV<\/strong>, a free streaming app, even has an entire channel that shows nothing but The Andy Griffith Show <\/strong><\/em> 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While it has been 62 years since the show originally aired, it remains popular with an estimated thirty-thousand fans attending the 33rd Annual Mayberry Days<\/em> in held in Mt. Airy, NC the last full weekend of September 2022. The ages were from 4 to 96 and all gathered because of their love for series that ended production on April 1, 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
