I hate I missed the live show, but thank goodness for the recorded versions! This was an interesting podcast. I enjoyed it very much, as a matter of fact I just saw Judd again today on Dragnet where he played the cat burglar who was stealing things from peoples homes while they were away at a funeral. He was very quick and witty in this episode, very funny !

I think you mentioned Burt being discovered by “a” director William Wyler. That is such an interesting story! William Wyler (not Wilder) is one of the most famous and renowned film directors of all time. He directed Ben-Hur, Detective Story, Roman Holiday, Funny Girl, and many many more, and won the Best Director Oscar THREE times. He directed most Hollywood royalty in the 50’s thru 70’s, and this is such an image – to see him seeking out the 67-year old actor, maybe not so glamorous, and setting him on a major career with his film Detective Story.
