It’s been a while since I played your voice mails or read your e-mails, and comments here on the show.  This episode is dedicated to answering your questions and sharing your thoughts with all our fellow Mayberry fans.

Some of the things addressed:
What episodes did Barney wear a dress?
Do you know who Arthur Malet is?
How many Elvis movies was Howard McNear a part of?

Thanks to all who wrote or called in!

Feedback episodes are some of my favorite episodes because  I get to hear back because, the listeners of this show!  It’s been over a year since I did a listener feedback only episode of Two Chairs because I added feedback into episodes about other things throughout 2014 but you deserve episodes dedicated to you and your feedback because you’re what makes Mayberry  special.  Thank you for taking time to share your Mayberry knowledge with me and the rest of The Andy Griffith Show fans here on the show.

I recently ran across an article by Bill Easterling.  Mr. Easterling had a column that appeared in the Huntsville Times for 22 years and this was one that I cut out and placed in my scrapbook.  The story is from 1994 but the question is just as relevant today.  Will values always stay timeless?  I, and Mr. Easterling, believe they will.  I’ll leave it to you to make your on conclusions.

This episode we’ll tackle a few questions from listeners and hear feedback from others. The main topic that I believe will interest you is our discussion of the 40 Acres backlot where the external shots from The Andy Griffith Show were filmed.

There’s a GREAT website devoted to 40 Acres called RetroWeb.com. Fans of The Andy Griffith Show and many other TV shows film in the 1950’s and 1960’s will enjoy the trip through memory lane when you take the virtual tour of the backlot created on the RetroWeb site. You may also notice homes and locations used on a little movie called “Gone With the Wind” if you look around a bit.

If 40 Acres doesn’t interest you, then stick around and you can at least learn more about me (your host) as I answer a question about how I got started as Floyd. If that really interest you, check out the interview done with me on back in episodes 144 thru 146. The link is in the notes below.

Last episode we talked about the episode of The Andy Griffith Show called “Mayberry on Record” and the reversed audio we hear when Mr. Maxwell is rewinding the tape recorder that Barney had just spoken into.  I played around with the audio and tried to pull out some of what was said and challenged some of you audio engineers out there to help us figure out even better what was being said.

Mike Peacock from Indiana rose to the occasion and provided exactly what I had asked for so on this episode we’ll hear Mayberry on Record, reversed!  Thank you so much, Mike, for taking time to do this for all us Mayberry fans.

Paul Mulik wrote in to give us even more information about Mayberry on Record which included the name of the actual album used as the “Mayberry on Record” stand-in during the episode epilogue.  Great information all around about this wonderful TAGS episode.

Finally, we hear from James Robert Phillips, Sr. about “Andy’s Gift” to all fans of The Andy Griffith Show. He had posted his thoughts on a Facebook group and I asked for permission to share it here on the podcast. Thanks to him for allowing the use of his heartfelt Mayberry thoughts.

Two Chairs No Waiting 277: He Was Out!

He was out!  That’s right!  Following our last podcast episode, the listeners have spoken and agree by a majority that Opie was out.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, head back to episode 276 of Two Chairs and give it a listen…we’ll wait right here.

Two listeners called in to share their comments with us about the call Andy made and to give another bit of trivia related to the episode of The Andy Griffith Show called “Mayberry on Record.”

Friend of the show, Jack Fellenzer, send me a bumper sticker for a feller running for Lt. Governor in Arkansas who’s name is….. Andy Mayberry!  I’m not getting political here on the podcast but when you visit his website you see right there in the top left corner the words “Nip it in the Bud!” so how bad can he be?  He is a big fan of The Andy Griffith Show and his name is Andy Mayberry.  That’s great!  I don’t know his politics but he would certainly get my attention enough to check him out if I was in his state.
