Every week on Two Chairs No Waiting I tell you about Weaver’s Department Store and often I think that you don’t realize that it is a REAL store.  It isn’t just a name from The Andy Griffith Show that I made up as a sponsor for this podcast.  It’s real!

Two years ago I did an episode at Christmas time about the stuff at Weaver’s and this week I thought it was time for me to do it again.  I’ll point out things at Weaver’s that would be fun for the Mayberry fan in your life to have, even if that fan is you!

I smile just thinking about having a Mayberry calendar to look at every day of the next year or about having a shirt with Andy, Barney, Opie or one of the folks in Mayberry  right on front that I wear to help start conversations and bring smiles.

It’s time to share those smiles with others by giving away a little bit of Mayberry for Christmas, a birthday, or just because you want to make somebody happy.

We start off the episode with a great clip of Betty Lynn at the 2015 Col Tim’s Talent Time held during Mayberry Days.  Betty has such a Mayberry spirit that anytime we can hear from her is wonderful.

We follow that up with a Bruce Bilson telling us about the first time “Opie” tried to throw the rock into the lake for the opening credits of The Andy Griffith Show.  It was filmed at Franklin Canyon and this is a story you will not want to miss.

We had some controversy over of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club Facebook page so we’ll address that and we also hear from a few who called in and several who provided written comments.
