To give you an idea of what kind of thing might see when attending Col Tim’s during Mayberry Days, we’re going to watch (yes, I think you should watch the YouTube version of this episode rather than just listen) a compilation of video clips from Mount Airy, N.C.’s 2026 edition of Col. Tim’s Talent Time. This is the show that wraps up the Mayberry Days week each year.
These clips feature the Mayberry tribute artists recreating moments from the episode “My Fair Ernest T. Bass“. It features James Dodson as Andy, Terry Varvel as Barney, and Eddie Kilborne as Ernest T. The skits also features most all the other tribute characters as well as several “fans” who made up Mrs. Wiley’s Tea Party guests. We also get to see Col. Harvey -Keith Brown- and Gomer -Chris Bauman- becoming a Deputy. The skits seen, other than the tea party itself, were done as what I call “in-betweens.” An “in-between” is something done between the talent acts occurring during the Talen Time show to keep the “Mayberry” feel of the evening flowing among the singers, dancers and other acts.
I hope you enjoy it and that it gives you an idea of what you’re missing during these wonderful Mayberry events.

Mayberry Days 2026 has come and gone but the memories will last in our minds. I always look forward to hearing from attendees and what they experienced during Mayberry Days and that’s what we’ll be doing some of on this episode.
Everyone experiences Mayberry Days slightly differently because there are so many things to see and do during the time spent in Mt. Airy, N.C. I requested on a post in the “Floyd’s City Barber Shop” group on Facebook, “If you attended Mayberry Days this year, I would LOVE to hear a personal report about your experience.” There are well over 30 responses currently and we’ll go through those.

My wife, Jan, and I have been redoing TCNW HQ and I have been finding some really fun Mayberry memories to share with you. This episode features an article from the 2004 edition of The Mayberry Confidential written by the main man of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club (TAGSRWC), Jim Clark.
The article is titled Dreams of Mayberry and does an amazing job capturing the feeling of many fans who have had dreams about Mayberry over the years. I think you’ll really enjoy this.

2025 Mayberry Days just wrapped up the end of September. Mount Airy, N.C. became Mayberry for the week. I asked my listeners/viewers on last episode to call in and they responded!

Tim’s during Mayberry Days so this episode we’ll experience some examples of the things that occur at Col. Tim’s.
