Two Chairs No Waiting 144: Allan Newsome Interview Part 1

Host: Allan Newsome
Running time: 0:17:34

Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

Floyd Lawson, the barber in Mayberry, guest hosts this episode of Two Chairs No Waiting which features an interview by Greg Davis of the Priority Talk radio program heard on WXJC 92.5 fm and 850 am in Birmingham, AL.  Allan was invited on the show to talk “Mayberry” and it just happened to be the week leading into the 11th Annual Mayberry Squad Car Nationals held in Graysville, AL.

Folks have been asking for Allan to interview himself but that never seemed right to him so thankfully Greg did the interviewing and “Floyd” is guest hosting so Allan didn’t have to ask himself questions. Floyd host this and the other 2 parts of the interview that will follow over in the coming weeks.  We hope you enjoy the show.

Our thanks to WXJC for allowing us to rebroadcast the interview.

Hello Allen, Sent a note to you last week but not sure you received it, so I’m sending another to be on the safe side. My name is jerry wilson from Ft. Laud Fl. I came upon your Two Chairs Podcast shows about three weeks ago. Thank you for all the hard work you do to put those shows together, they are VERY entertaining. I listen to them while my wife and I do our one mile walk every other night. I’ve been a fan of The Andy Griffith show for many, many years. I usually watch at least two a day, sometimes i just like to have it on in the background. It reminds me of my younger days, hearing the fishing hole song. I just finshed podcast number 68 today (gunsmoke) looking forward to all of the shows. I have been to Mt Airy but not for Mayberry Days, would love to do that someday. Just wanted to say Thanks again for all you do and I’m glad I found you. You have a mayberry friend in south Florida. Jerry..

    Hey Jerry,
Thank you for listening to the podcast and thank you for writing. Believe me, the work on all the Mayberry websites, mailing lists, and podcasts is a labor of love. You should try and make it to Mayberry Days sometime. It’s something EVERY fan of The Andy Griffith Show should try and do at least one time. If you do it once…you’ll keep going back.
