I received a question from “Who’s Been Messin’ Up the Bulletin Board?” Chapter member, Larry Grainger asking:

Do you or some of your listeners know what this line means, from “Citizens Arrest?”

ANDY: Yeah. Misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. Drove down main street with a cutout open and a real flying cloud.

If you don’t immediately recognize that line of dialog, you can be forgiven….mainly because I didn’t remember it myself so if you don’t recall it right away, I’ll feel better.

The quote kicks off from the first scene of Season 4, Episode 11, called “Citizen’s Arrest” (it first aired back on December 2, 1963, which is a whopping 63 years ago from when this podcast drops). In this episode, Deputy Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts, is digging through some dusty old arrest records from past Mayberry sheriffs at the courthouse. He starts reading out loud one of those old misdemeanor charges from way back when.

We’ll answer this question and provide a lot for you to think about as we hit the stories in the Weaver’s Newsletter Nov/Dec 2025. There’s a lot of really good information in there and it’s FREE for you to subscribe and get for yourself.

Mayberry Days is always amazing as a fan. This years event in Mount Airy, NC was the 36th annual Mayberry Days and it lived up to expectations. A highlight of every Mayberry Days is the “super bowl” of Mayberry Trivia.

This episode we go through the Qualifying Round questions and answers of the 2025 World Championship of Mayberry Trivia Qualifying.

The qualifying round is played by all who chose to participate and attempt to earn a spot in the Finals of Mayberry trivia. If you qualify, you end up facing previous years Mayberry Days Trivia champions as well as the others who qualified from this round on stage for the finals.

The Andy Griffith Show was front of mind in Marion, KY on Saturday night’s Old Kentucky Hayride show in the historic Fohs Hall. Cutter & Cash and The Kentucky Grass band who preformed the last two years as the musical act on the Cruise to Mayberry invited Floyd the barber to be a special “secret” guess performer at the Old Kentucky Hayride on November 15, 2025.

They had “Floyd” (yes, I’m taking about myself in third person) hide down in the basement until time to take the stage just before the intermission half way through the show.

We’ll watch, or listen to, the LIVE performance as filmed by David Collins. My thanks to David for allowing Two Chairs to share his recording.

This week’s trivia questions is part 2 of Paul Mulik’s “Fun Girls” trivia. Last episodes part 1 questions were not super easy but you’ve hopefully had a week to study the Fun Girls and are prepared. Good luck and have fun answering.

The day this episode premieres is Veterans Day here in the United States so I thought it would be fitting to talk about The Andy Griffith Show characters and actors that were veterans. This took a good bit of research and I’m not sure I got them all. If you know of characters or actors that I miss, please let me know
