I hope you heard first 2 parts of this series but even if you haven’t, you are in for a treat as we continue the interview with Two Chair No Waiting’s resident Mayberry History expert, Randy Turner. The interview was originally aired on Yesterday USA (https://yesterdayusa.net/). Yesterday USA is a streaming radio station with the purpose of preserving and presenting the history of old time radio shows. They also interview folks with connection to classic television and other topics. Yesterday USA is operated by an all-volunteer staff.

The host of this interview is Walden Hughes with co-hosts Patricia and Dan.

This part of Randy’s interview talks about the influence of “Old Time Radio” series & writers on early television, “Opie the Birdman,” whether the popularity of The Andy Griffith Show will last, Randy Turner’s publications, Mayberry festivals & the Mayberry fan community, and the Mayberry Man movie.

This is final episode of this amazing interview so I encourage you to go back and check out the other two parts of this interview, if you missed them. For that matter, you may want to listened to them all again just to be sure you didn’t miss anything.

TCNW 701: Planning for Mayberry Days

Two Chairs No Waiting
Two Chairs No Waiting

Host: Allan Newsome
Running time: 0:41:50

Folks are always asking me “what should I do at Mayberry Days?” I can’t answer each person individually so here’s an episode that should help you think about what you might want to do during Mayberry Days.

Each person would have their own things they would be excited about during Mayberry Days so I’ll give you a run down of what’s happening during Mayberry Days 2022 and hopefully it will help you, at least a little, even if you’re planning to attend a future Mayberry Days in Mt. Air, NC.

A quick note, visiting MayberryDays.com is the best resource for planning your adventure and it’s updated each year so you’ll always have the best information.

We’re going to play some trivia that was sent in by Two Chairs listener/viewer, Lorie. A big thank you to Lorie for these fun questions. If you’d like to send in trivia, email them to floyd@imayberry.com but please make sure your answers are correct, like Lorie did.

We’ll wrap up with SpiritWalker and his “Returning to Mayberry” segment as he completes a chain of connection between episodes for season one.

TCNW 700: Not 99 but 700

Two Chairs No Waiting
Two Chairs No Waiting

Host: Allan Newsome
Running time: 0:34:19

Wow…we’ve made it to 700 episodes of Two Chairs No Waiting and folks are still listening/watching! I want to thank all of you for spending time with me each week here in Mayberry so we can talk about our hometown. It’s almost like therapy to loose myself in the town of Mayberry each week and spend time with you, my fellow townsfolk, and share a laugh. Thank you for being here and supporting me.

This week, we’ll hear from fellow fans via voicemail. We have one that’ll kick thinks off talking about Ellen Brown and what color her dress is at the beginning of “The Manicurist.” Is is black or gray? We also hear from several other folks with wonderful observations and comments. Thanks to all of those that called in and left messages.

We’ll wrap up with SpiritWalker and his “Returning to Mayberry” segment as he works to complete a chain of connection between episodes. Wow, he does a lot of research so y’all dig him because he digs you.
