I was talking with a co-worker earlier today. He got me thinking that there are things I take for granted as being common knowledge that really aren’t well known. We’re going to hit a few of those things as we move through this episode to include where to find maps of Mayberry, where to watch The Andy Griffith Show 24/7, and more.
I’ve got 10 fun Mayberry trivia questions for you that I hope will make you smile.
This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Jonathan Hole” part 2 (Johnny Coonts, Tom Jacobs, Olan Soule).

Welcome to episode forty-eight of the Mayberry Devotional, entitled “Making an Omelette.” In today’s episode, I’m going to look at Episode 13 of Season 2 of The Andy Griffith Show, The Farmer Takes a Wife and I’ll use Scripture from Mathew 26:33-34 – 33 At this Peter exclaimed, “Even if everyone should lose his faith in you, I never will!” 34 “I tell you, Peter,” replied Jesus, “that tonight, before the cock crows, you will disown me three times.”

The Mayberry Man movie is just about to be released and it’s kind of amazing to me how many fans of The Andy Griffith Show still believe the movie is some type of remake of the series. As the title of this episode states, it is not a remake. This past weekend I spent a good deal of time on different social media sites talking with fans and trying to help them understand that the movie was made for Mayberry fans by Mayberry fans.
There’s no big “Hollywood” studio behind the movie precisely to avoid the filmmaker being told what could or could not be in the movie. Mayberry Man does its best to capture the spirit of what made The Andy Griffith Show so special. It doesn’t try to be a remake but rather tries to bring that feeling back to the viewer by telling a new story with roots in Mayberry. I hope fans will give it a chance.
We’ll also hear a poem from Ronnie Felker called “Floyd’s Barbershop” that I think you’ll enjoy. Ronnie is a Barney Fife tribute artist out of South Carolina.

August 9, 1946. A day that will live in infamy in the town of Mayberry.
It was 75 years ago that “The Case of the Punch in the Nose” occurred between Floyd and Charley Foley. It may have been assault or perhaps it was just a misunderstanding. The paperwork will never tell us because the case is as open as it ever was.

Welcome to episode forty seven of the Mayberry Devotional, entitled “Keep On Keeping On.” In today’s episode, I’m going to look at Episode 12 of season two of The Andy Griffith Show, Sheriff Barney and I’ll use Scripture from Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

In researching for the podcast, I’m always looking for items that we Mayberry fans might enjoy. I ran across this story in the Showbiz Cheatsheet and knew it was something I’d never heard and thought it would be something you’d like, too.
Jack Dodson was only in the color episodes but he really did fit into the town of Mayberry. It was easy to believe that Howard Sprague was someone who grew up in Mayberry. He just fit.
