Up to Episode 256 – but where is the Kids Trivia contest you have mentioned several times? No search return on YouTube, on your site, in many of the Mayberry Days videos so far.. thanks.

I really enjoy these interviews as well as all of the Podcasts! Thank you for doing them and sharing with us. These are real treasures that we could get no where else! Just for fun I looked up Betty’s credits on IMDB and it shows all of the productions that she was in including the 26 episodes of TAGS.

You folks seemed to enjoy the Mayberry Days Trivia question but many asked if we could have some trivia for “regular” folks. Well, here we go. Ten questions for folks to have fun answering.
We’ll also have some voice mail feedback from some of our listeners.

Otis and I have a phone conversation about the crowd you see at the Sheriff’s Boy’s Day Race on the episode “A Medal for Opie.” Be sure to listen for this great bit of trivial trivialities from The Andy Griffith Show.
Jason calls in with information about a possible sighting of a Mount Airy Telephone Directory on “A Black Day for Mayberry.” John asks about the rumored Andy Griffith biography book that’s never been published. There’s even more so tune and have some fun with us in Mayberry.

It’s time for us to step back and see what you have to say about past episodes. Every week I talk and talk so it’s a real pleasure for me to hear back from you. Thank you for taking time to give back to the show by providing your feedback.
This episode we hear from folks talking about “Good Old 14-A”, Betty Lynn Interviews, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and more. We also take a few minutes to remind everyone about the ORIGINAL Mayberry podcast, “Burke On Mayberry,” and his report on the upcoming Mayberry Days festival in Mt. Airy, NC.
Take you shoes off and sit a spell with us and enjoy the show.

This episode we are able to hear from four of our listeners.
Calvin called in to talk about how many touching scenes there are on The Andy Griffith Show. We all know that TAGS is funny but we often forget just how much the show pulled at our hearts with episodes like Opie the Birdman or Mr. McBeevee. The writers were amazing in that they could make us laugh one week and then tear up the next. Calvin also mentioned what he thought was a blooper in “Cousin Virgil” and we’ll clear that up
Dick tells us that all Mayberry fans should get a copy of Mayberry 101 so they can learn even more wonderful facts about why the writers of TAGS did what they did during episodes.
Gary noticed a strange and curious happening that involves Gomer’s tie and Mr. Weaver.
And lastly, we hear from Michael who shares his love of our podcast and Mayberry.
Thank all of them for calling and thank you for taking time to visit with them, and me, during this trip to Mayberry.

We have a couple of questions that were left on our voice mail from listeners just like you.
The first question is from John and is about Andy and clarifying if indeed he was an owner of The Andy Griffith Show or not. At Mayberry Days in 2004 Andy made some statements that lead John to believe that Andy wasn’t an owner. We’ll look into that and hear what Andy actually did say back in 2004.
Our second voice mail is from Gary who has some very nice observations about continuity errors during the episode “The Christmas Story.” Gary noticed the American flag and a calendar doing some interesting things.
Researching Gary’s comments, I noticed a possible connection to Reggie Smith. Reggie was the prop master for The Andy Griffith Show and was discussed in episode # 234 of Two Chairs. Are those his initials we see just under the jail cell window?

There are several times throughout the run of The Andy Griffith Show were we see continuity errors. From Barney’s badge being on his shirt in one scene and missing in the next to people missing from a bench on the street only to appear when the shot cuts to a different angle.
On this episode a caller points out the disappearing jail cell keys while another person writes in to note the Taylor’s home moving right next door to Miss Crump’s house.
Was there a continuity person? How might they have missed these errors? Let’s find out.
