We’re checking out the Mayberry Confidential story by Jim Clark that was in the 2011 edition of the Surry Arts Council’s publication.
Jim Clark is the Presiding Goober of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club and nobody can capture the spirit of Mayberry like Jim. His story called “Mayberry Rockin’ for the Ages” is a wonderful example of what Dr. Harrison Everett Breen was trying to teach us all in “Sermon for Today.” Slow down…..what’s your hurry?
I hope you’ll find a rockin’ chair to sit in and visit with family and friends. Those relationships…they’re what Mayberry is about. Don’t let them pass you by.

Let’s kick off the fourth year of podcasting here at Two Chairs No Waiting with a little look back to the way things were at the beginning. Episode #1 was released on October 11, 2008 so the release date of #157 is exactly 3 years, and 156 episodes later.
Things have changed a little over the years (like the audio quality and having a video version of the show) but I hope the Mayberry spirit continues to flow though from me to you.
I have enjoyed bringing you a little under 41 hours (40.8 hours) of Two Chairs No Waiting over the past 3 years. Thank you to all of you for listening and supporting the show.

Let’s talk Mayberry Days! What’s Mayberry Days? Oh…if you love, or even enjoy, The Andy Griffith Show you should start now planning a trip to Mt. Airy, NC the last full weekend of September. That’s where you’ll find an entire town filled with Mayberry fans and folks you’ll want to get to know.
I’ve been going every year since 1993 and I’ll tell you that every year it seems to be more fun than the last. It isn’t just the Mayberry aspects of the event either. The fans you meet there are the salt of the world and getting to visit with them…well, it’s something special.
This episode also marks the end of my 3rd year of podcasting here at Two Chairs No Waiting.

Those of you who aren’t able to attend the “live” recording of Two Chairs No Waiting on Monday nights may never have heard of a song called, “The Andy Griffith Show of Women.” Well, I recently received permission from David Staples, the writer & performer, to play the song on the podcast.
In David’s own words, “The most sincere compliment you could give a woman is to compare her to the greatest show of all time.” September 5, 2011 is my 19th wedding anniversary so what better compliment can I pay Jan than to compare her to The Andy Griffith Show.
