Welcome to part two of our two part interview with the owner of The Snappy Lunch, Mr. Charles Dowell.
The focus of this episode is the world famous Pork Chop Sandwich and where the idea for serving it came from. As I’ve said before, if you’re ever in Mt. Airy be sure to have a pork chop sandwich “all the way” because, as Andy might say, “They’re gooooood!”
Recorded in April 1998 in the back room of The Snappy Lunch so you’ll here dishes, pots and pans knocking against one another as the workers get orders ready.

Very interesting! Man, Allan these are great interviews and I am really enjoying them. These are one of a kind. You know the background noise is not a distration, it actually adds character to the interview. Reminds me of some of the things I have heard on PBS ! This is Americana at its best! Annnd….I always love hearing from Floyd at the end .
