This episode will focus on trivia provided by listener/viewer of the podcast, Paul Mulik. Paul provides trivia for us here on Two Chairs quite often and we normally play a few questions each week. Since next week will be our “Spooky Time of the Year” episode and there won’t be any trivia, I thought we’d double down and do an entire group of trivia questions on this episode.
These likely won’t be all that easy so get out your thinking caps and lets see how many we can answer.
A listener wrote in with a question about “Central High” that I have an opinion on but don’t have a “for certain” answer. If you do, I’d love to hear from you.
We have a few voice messages to go through as well so this should be a fun episode.

During the Mayberry Meetup 2025, attendee Julie Sipe was inspired by the events and the things she was experiencing to sit down and write a letter to Opie. She wrote it as if Opie were a real person who had been among those who had impacted her life in positive ways. She told of lessons she had learned from watching Opie and his dad deal with bullies and spoiled kids, help a friend that perhaps didn’t have as good a life as she might have, love their neighbor as themselves, take responsibility and stand on their own two legs, and so many impacts in her life.
On Sunday morning of the Meetup, we gathered for a Mayberry Bible study lesson and as part of it she shared this “Letter to Opie” with those able to attend. It was touching and I reached out to see if she were share it with all of us here on the podcast. Thank you, Julie, for being willing to share this wonderful piece of yourself with your Mayberry family. I think I can safely say that what you’re going to hear will ring true with the vast majority of fans.
To round things out, we’ll have some fun trying to answer a few Mayberry trivia questions.

In the last month or so we’ve gotten a good bit of feedback from you, the listeners, so it’s time to give them some airtime.
We have comments from YouTube and voicemails to hear so this will be a fun episode. The topics vary but they all center on The Andy Griffith Show in some form.
Then we’ll play some Mayberry trivia provided by Paul Mulik. This week’s topic: Mayberry Teachers.

This week we’ll take some time to hear from the listeners/viewers like you. It’s been a few weeks since we last focused on your thoughts so we’ll be covering comments from several different podcast episodes. I have folks ask me all the time how much time the tribute artists spend rehearsing the skits/shows we put on at events like Mayberry Days. I thought I’d take an episode to talk about that topic and let you all know that, well, we don’t get to rehearse at all. What you see is the tribute artists just stepping up and improving our way through scenes from The Andy Griffith Show and most of the time it’s with almost zero time to even walk through the scene.
I’ll explain that and give you an example of a skit we did back in 1995 that was the VERY first time we’d even tried to do it. It was done in front of a live audience at Col Tim’s at Mayberry Days 1995.
I have a couple of voicemails we’ll address and then we’ll wrap things up by playing some easy Mayberry trivia.
Thank you to the folks that attended the Mayberry Meet-up 2023 for your support of the podcast!

We had some feedback last week that I didn’t cover and one in particular influenced this entire episode.
The first bit of feedback, I think I did cover last week but we like re-runs around here so….I’ll do it again.
The second bit of feedback is from an anonymous caller talking about Otis Campbell Day in Nashville, TN. We’ll hear from him and I’ll clear up a few things he mentions then we’ll go and hear a full report on the Otis Campbell Day event from the April 13, 1988 edition of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watcher Club newsletter, The Bullet.
We’ll wrap things up by playing some Otis related multiple choice Mayberry trivia questions.
