Welcome to the Mayberry Devotional. I’m sure by now, most have heard of the passing of Maggie Peterson Mancuso. Maggie, aka Charlene Darling, passed away Sunday May 15. According to her family, she passed away quietly in her sleep with her family present. Maggie was loved by all and up until about three years ago was still attending fan gatherings representing the show. I got to meet her several times and she was always happy to meet her fans and so appreciative of everyone coming to say hello to her. She was loved by all and will be missed.
Today I’m going to skip ahead a few episodes and look at season three, episode twenty five of The Andy Griffith Show, “The Darlings are Coming”. This is the first episode where we see the Darling family, along with Maggie Peterson as she becomes the one and only Charlene Darling. The title of my devotional today is “Forgive Because We Have Been Forgiven” and I’ll also be looking at Scripture from Micah 7:18a.

Welcome to episode 76 of the Mayberry Devotional entitled “Forgive and Forget”. Today I’ll be looking at season three episode ten of The Andy Griffith Show, “Opie’s Rival”. And I’ll also be looking at Scripture from Matthew 26:33-35.
33 Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same. – ESV
