This week we’re going to time travel back to the fall of 1991 and the Mayberry Cast Reunion held at Opryland in Nashville, TN. Cast members Don Knotts, George Lindsey, Betty Lynn, Maggie Peterson, Hal Smith, Jack Prince, The Dillards (Rodney Dillard, Mitch Jayne and Dean Webb, plus talented non-cast-member Steve Cooley) and Doug Dillard performed and reminisced about Mayberry. TAGSRWC Presiding Goober, Jim Clark, was there and provided this special report of the events in the February 15, 1992 issue of The Bullet newsletter.
Enjoy a trip back to one of the very first Mayberry cast live events ever held. It was BIG!
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Burt Mustin.”

It was with a heavy heart that I found out about the passing of James Best. He passed away the evening of April 6, 2015 and he will be greatly missed by his fans all over the world. James Best is known to Mayberry fans as guitar player Jim Lindsey from two episodes in season one of The Andy Griffith Show but he is loved the world over as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane from The Dukes of Hazzard. But those are just two of the hundreds of characters James Best has played during his amazing life.
I thought a nice tribute to him would be to recall an interview he did with Jim Clark from March 31, 1998 issue of The Bullet. The story was written by Jim Clark and I think it will give you a different look into James Best’s life and career.
I did an interview with Mr. Best way back in episode #38 of this podcast that you might also enjoy. It’s fairly short so drop by and give it a listen.

Mayberry fans know Allan Melvin…well, they may not know his name but they would know his face and one of the eight different characters he played on The Andy Griffith Show. Maybe the name “Fred Plummer” from the TAGS episode “Barney’s Uniform” would ring a bell or maybe “Jake” who was Mrs. Lesch’s right hand man in “Barney’s First Car” would trigger a memory.
This interview from November 16, 1997 issue of The Bullet was written by Jim Clark will help you get to know Mr. Melvin and appreciate his contributions to Classic TV and cartoons.

I was reviewing my archive of hard copy versions of The Bullet and found a jewel in the June 1, 1992 issue. There’s a story in there by Jim Clark titled “Howard McNear – The Many Parts of Floyd the Barber” and it is a treasure!
On this episode of Two Chairs, I’ll read most of this wonderful focus on Howard McNear to you and I know you’re going to enjoy it. If you enjoy it as much as I think you may, y0u can purchase a copy of the full version for yourself over at Weaver’s.
Enjoy learning more about America’s favorite barber. “Everything’s okay in Mayberry.”

The January 2014 issue of The eBullet, the OFFICIAL newsletter of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club (TAGSRWC), has just been released and the information contained within is something you don’t want to miss. I’d like to thank Jim Clark, the “Presiding Goober” of TAGSRWC, for allowing Two Chairs No Waiting to use some of the content from The eBullet here on the podcast. Jim works throughout the year to find Mayberry information for the fans and I am very thankful for being allowed to help spread the news he delivers.
Be sure to check out the latest issue of The eBullet and read all the information for yourself. You can also go back over 10 years to see past issues of The eBullet…for FREE! That’s right! Jim provides all this amazing information for free to all the fans of The Andy Griffith Show out there so be sure to subscribe to the newsletter so you never miss an issue.
Also, shop at Weaver’s Department Store and support TAGSRWC in the process.
We also hear from Larry by voice mail discussing Opie’s ability to curve a rock from right to left so well at such a young age. He might give Ernest T. a run for best rock thrower in the county.

I was looking through the archives here at the Two Chairs No Waiting headquarters and found my back issues of The Bullet. The Bullet was the official newsletter of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club (TAGSRWC) for years until it moved to an electronic version (The eBullet) back in the early 2000’s.
I thought it would be great to share the very first issue of The Bullet with you and give you a feel for where TAGSRWC began. We have so much to be thankful to TAGSRWC for because without the club I truly believe we would not have the podcast, websites, events, and products related to The Andy Griffith Show that we have today. Thank you, Jim Clark and all the founders of TAGSRWC for keeping Mayberry alive.
George Jr. was on an episode of “Shop ’til You Drop” that aired on the Game Show Network in December where he won a trip to the Bahamas. The fun thing was, I had to come home early one day from work and what just happened to be on the TV…this very episode of “Shop ’til You Drop!”

Jim Clark works hard to provide all Mayberry fans with news and information about The Andy Griffith Show and its cast & crew. I let the month of May slip by without talking about goings on in The eBullet but that’s an omission that I can’t allow to continue.
Let’s look at a snap shot in time of what’s happening in Mayberry and enjoy highlights from the May 2013 issue of The eBullet.
