Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

Following episode #88, Mayberry fan Gaither Harwood stayed around in the chat room (I record the show live and some folks drop by and watch the live feed) and confirmed that Earle Hagen’s son was the original finger snapper for the Theme of The Andy Griffith Show.

I had thought that Earle had told me that during a conversation so when Gaither mentioned the same fact I was excited. I had not mentioned Deane Hagen’s finger snapping on the podcast because I couldn’t confirm my information. Thankfully Gaither has a better memory than me and pointed me right to that odd fact known by few in “The Definitive Andy Griffith Show Reference” by Dale Robinson and David Fernandes (page 310 of the hardcover edition).

Two Chairs No Waiting

We had a caller last week asking about Mayberry Days and what folks would want to make sure not to miss when they attend.  I talked so much that I really didn’t get into the details of Mayberry Days so I thought I would spend this episode talking about several events coming up. Several of them occur each year so make plans to attend and I really believe you’ll have a wonderful time.

Mayberry Days isn’t the only event so check out the “Event Calendar” link at iMayberry.com for a complete list of events.  Try and make plans to visit one of these events and support folks that are trying to bring a little bit of Mayberry to your corner of the world.
