Elinor Donahue is amazing and very open about her life and experience in this interview from Mayberry Days 2005. “Miss Ellie” is always a favorite of the fan of The Andy Griffith Show and the love for her will only increase as this interview progresses. We learn about her early live and career and in future podcast episodes we get to know this gracious lady in a much more personal way than every before.
Neal Brower has been holding a session of Professor Brower’s Class at Mayberry Days for years. The live classes go along with the regular column called “Professor Brower’s Class” that he started in 1991 in issues of The Bullet (now called The eBullet) newsletter of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club.
We’re so luck that TAGS fans Neil & Pat Coleman provided us the recordings of this wonderful interview.

We haven’t done any “fun” trivia in more than 20 episodes. We did do Mayberry Days trivia back in episode 299 but I’m not sure how “fun” that trivia is for most fans because we didn’t get more than one or two answers correct. Episode 284 was the last, what I call, “fun” trivia where normal fans of The Andy Griffith Show have a chance to actually answer the questions so here at the end of 2014 seemed like a good time to have fun.
These questions come from the 2013 Mayberry Cruise trivia contest. There were 22 questions in that contest and we’re only going to cover the first 11 questions on this episode. These aren’t as hard as Mayberry Days trivia but they are challenging.
So, sit back…put a thinking bucket on your head and we’ll have some Mayberry fun trying to get the answers to these trivia questions.

There is only one Christmas episode of The Andy Griffith Show and fans still enjoy watching it each year. I figure that listeners to this podcast enjoy hearing some of the same music each Christmas, too. It’s a tradition that we’ll continue here at Two Chairs No Waiting to enjoy some Mayberry related Christmas music.
We get to hear Ben Sandifer’s wonderful Mayberry Christmas poem.
We take a wonderful return trip down memory lane with Charlie Monk called “Andy & Opie Christmas.”
Some “Fred Upstairs” want’a be sings “Barney the Mayberry Deputy.” And we close out the show with Miss Ellie singing “Away in a Manger.”
God bless you and may the year to come be a wonderful blessing to you and yours.

I ran across a wonderful interview that first appeared in the Mt. Airy News on September 25, 2014. The story was written by Keith Strange and is titled “They Were Just Parents.”
In recent episodes, we’ve heard from George Lindsey Jr about his dad and this article brings Karen Knotts into the mix with both of them telling about growing up with famous dad’s. Keith did a great job pulling out details I had never hear so I know you’re going to enjoy this. A link to the original article is in the links section below.
