Last week we heard from Floyd and Bert all about Barney and Thelma Lou’s first meeting at Wilton Blair’s funeral and the romance that followed.  That was some hay ride.

As we left the pair, they were sitting in the barber shop beginning to talk about Mr. Schwamp and Nellie.

Let’s drop by the barber shop and see what other gossip they might be sharing about the towns people of Mayberry.   Let’s join them now and hear what happens.  Listen…..

Thank you to writer Joe Gritton has provided a wonderful script featuring Mayberry barber, Floyd Lawson, and door-to-door salesman, Bert Miller.

What if The Andy Griffith Show had been on the radio?  I mean old time radio?   Wouldn’t it be great to discover that there were unknown scenes with the folks from Mayberry starring in them?

For the next two episode of Two Chairs, we’ll explore that thought.  Writer Joe Gritton has provided a wonderful script featuring Mayberry barber, Floyd Lawson, and door-to-door salesman, Bert Miller.  The episode is done in the spirit of Old Time Radio so sit back and use your mind’s eye to picture the goings on in our hometown of Mayberry, NC.

Part 1 of “Mayberry After Mid-day” we find Bert Miller walking down the sidewalk of Main Street heading from the Mayberry Grande toward the courthouse.  As Bert nears Floyd’s barber shop, he slows down and considers sitting down for a rest on the bench outside the barber shop window.  Let’s join them now in Mayberry and hear what happens.  Listen…..

It is Memorial Day 2012 here in the US. I wanted to take time out to make sure we, here in Mayberry, say thank you to all those who serve, have served, and on this day especially those that gave their lives protecting my freedom.

I hope you enjoy hearing from Gomer Pyle as he sings for us.

I know you’re going to enjoy hearing Red Skelton’s version of the Pledge of Allegiance.  He certainly makes it clear what this country means to us all and what those that gave their lives were protecting.

Thank you, the service men and women of the United States, for what you did for us.  God bless you.

For the last two episodes of Two Chairs, we’ve been remembering one great who the town of Mayberry and the city of Nashville has lost.  Sadly, both places and Mayberry fans around the globe lost a second great on May 16, 2012.

Doug Dillard, the banjo playing Darling boy from The Andy Griffith Show, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2012.  He was 75 years old.

Doug was a fan favorite at Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC each year from the beginning of celebration of The Andy Griffith Show.  His performances drew fans and delighted all who attended.

Let’s explore the career of this talented man.

Let’s continue our tribute to George Lindsey which began in episode 187 of Two Chairs No Waiting.  Mr. Lindsey passed away on May 6, 2012 but he will never be forgotten by his family or his friends.

The 15th Annual George Lindsey UNA Film Festival held in Florence, Alabama on March 1-3, 2012 saw as part of the event the dedication of a new theater named after Mr. Lindsey.  The George Lindsey Theatre and the Ernest Borgnine Performance Hall ribbon cutting was a special event and as part of it we saw and heard from George as he did a question and answer session with those in attendance.

The first part of that presentation was in last weeks podcast and we conclude George’s portion in this episode.
