Two Chairs reaches the 400th episode milestone this episode and I got a special gift form listeners Mark & Mary Enger to help me celebrate. I try to describe the gift but if you watch the video version of the podcast, you’ll be able to see what he sent…I’m not sure words do it justice.
The focus of this episode is an interview with Michael Oliver who is our Gomer Pyle tribute artist. He and Kenneth “Otis” Junkin joined me during the 2016 Mayberry Cruise to talk. Michael is an amazing addition to the family of Mayberry tributes and I know you’re going to enjoy hearing from him because, like the rest of us, he’s a BIG fan of TAGS and that is where his portrayal of Gomer begins…in the heart.

The Golden Arm is a folktale appearing in many cultures through oral tradition. It was most famously told by Mark Twain and also used by him to instruct others in how to tell a story. In 2015, I presented the Mark Twain version of the story in episode #349. This being the spooky time of the year, I thought it was time to tell yet another version of the story.
This is spooky so be sure to keep those who might not sleep well, like Barney and Gomer, away from this episode…..I wouldn’t want to have them staring into the dark trying to see if someone thinks they might have their golden arm.
