The response to our last series of Neal Brower interviewing Elinor Donahue was so well received that I wanted to share more with you from Neal. This time we join him at Mayberry Days 2004 and his interview with the Darling boy (the Original Dillards) and Charlene (Maggie Peterson). This is going to be a four part series with Professor Brower and The Darlings.
This episode we get to know the men who make up the Darling family just a bit better by finding out their history as The Dillards before they arrived in Mayberry, NC. Doug, Rodney, Dean & Mitch tell stories about when they began to play music, how they started playing together and so much more.
Funny stories, smiles, laughter…..that’s what you have to look forward to and that’s just in part 1.
So, jump in where you can and hang on!
Thank you to Neil and Pat Coleman for the video used in this episode.

In this episode of Two Chairs, we’ll be going back to Mayberry Days 2004. It was a special Mayberry Days because all the Darling boys were together again to perform for the crowds in Mt. Airy, NC.
During their concert, Rodney broke a string so they needed someone to kill time while it was repaired. Of course, Mitch Jayne stepped up to the task and thank heaven he did because he provided us with some amazing moments that you’ll be able to enjoy here on the show.
Mitch shares his love of the language spoken in his neck of the woods. He also tells us the honest truth about Ebo Walker and what inspired he and Rodney to write the song.
Great and funny stories you will not want to miss.

Feedback episodes are some of my favorite episodes because I get to hear back because, the listeners of this show! It’s been over a year since I did a listener feedback only episode of Two Chairs because I added feedback into episodes about other things throughout 2014 but you deserve episodes dedicated to you and your feedback because you’re what makes Mayberry special. Thank you for taking time to share your Mayberry knowledge with me and the rest of The Andy Griffith Show fans here on the show.

Elinor Donahue is amazing and very open about her life and experience in this interview from Mayberry Days 2005. “Miss Ellie” is always a favorite of the fan of The Andy Griffith Show and the love for her will only increase as this interview progresses. We learn about her early live and career and in future podcast episodes we get to know this gracious lady in a much more personal way than every before.
