Lesson Introduction

A young man, Jimmy Morgan, is accused of breaking into Wally’s garage and stealing supplies.  Andy must figure out who the real culprit really is. Barney enters the electronics age when he decides to solve a mysterious string of robberies at Wally’s Filling Station using modern police technology. Andy is more concerned with clearing the name of the young man who was given a fresh start with a job at the station and who is chief suspect in the case.

Wow…249!  Two Chairs No Waiting has reached an episode total matching the number of episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and it’s time to celebrate that achievement by visiting some of our guests from past episodes of Two Chairs.

Guest from the very early days of Two Chairs were kind enough to agree to drop back by our little corner of Mayberry and visit with us.  We have a hole mess of folks so I’m just going to list them in the order they appeared with links to their episodes listed below in the “Related Links” section.

I have a meeting at church on Monday night so I won’t be able to record an episode this week. The next episode will be number 249 so it is Big!

Two Chairs No Waiting

Welcome to the conclusion of our visit with George “Goober” Lindsey from  1990 University of North Alabama (UNA) homecoming game. If you haven’t already heard last weeks episode, head over to episode 247 and give it a listen then come on back here.

As I mentioned last week, George “Goober” Lindsey attended UNA back when it was known as Florence State Teachers College.  As a result “Goober” was at UNA for their homecoming game back in 1990 against Tennessee-Martin.  UNA eventually won the game 49-0 so, as you might expect, the play-by-play folks on the radio were struggling to find things to talk about to make the game interesting. In stepped George Lindsey and for the 3rd quarter announcer Jerry Knight was joined by “Goober” for commentary.

The treats just keep on coming here at Two Chairs No Waiting!  Recently a listener, Tony, contacted me to let me know he had an audio copy of something I might want and BOY was he right. Tony lives i the Muscle Shoals area of Alabama and that just happens to be in the same area what the University of North Alabama (UNA) is located.

In stepped George Lindsey and for the 3rd quarter announcer Jerry Knight was joined by “Goober” for commentary.

Thanks to Jerry Knight and Tony, we all get to relive the third quarter of that game when Jerry was interviewing George and talking Mayberry.  I edited out most of the play-by-play so we basically are treated to an interview from 1990 of George Lindsey.
