Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

This is the first of a three part interview with David “The Mayberry Deputy” Browning.  David is the Barney Fife tribute artist who appears at Mayberry Days each year and at other Mayberry events throughout the country.  David was THE Barney who Don Knotts would request to open his “An Evening with Don Knotts” shows as “Barney.”  That alone says a lot about the David and his portrayal of the Mayberry deputy character.

In this segment of the interview with David he speaks about how he started as The Mayberry Deputy and about working with Mr. Knotts.

We’d love to hear from you and if you listen to the podcast you’ll get all our contact information or you can leave a comment on our web site here at iMayberry.com/podcasts.

Two Chairs No Waiting 20: Remembering Don Knotts

Two Chairs No Waiting

Remembering  Don Knotts.
It was on February 24th 2006 when the world lost a wonderful man. Mr. Knotts name at birth was Jesse Don Knotts  and he was born on July 21st 1924 in Morgantown, WV. He passed away at 81 years of age on February 24, 2006.

We were all sad to see Don Knotts leave us but I don’t want to dwell on remembering the day he passed so much as I want to celebrate the thing he did in life and the joy he continues to bring to millions each day through the character of Barney Fife.  Sure….there are other characters he played and he deserves credit for them as well but this is, after all, a Mayberry podcast so lets talk about “Barney.”

Don Knotts left this earth in 2006 but we will never be without the love, laughter, and joy that he continues to provide us all whenever we watch him perform or remember performances of the past.

Thank you Don Knotts for everything.
