Looking through the Two Chairs archives, I found the April 20, 1995 edition of The Bullet, Official Newsletter of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club. It has so many gems inside that I really wanted to be able to share them with you.
The first was a section of the newsletter called “Emmett’s Fix-it Shop Talk” that contained some valuable information the origins of the tag number seen on the Mayberry patrol car. Where did they come up with the JL327 number? You’ll get the answer!
Next we hear from Neal Brower and his article called “Professor Brower’s Class.” The article is all about “The Bed Jacket” episode of The Andy Griffith Show and is where I got the title of this episode. Neal gives us wonderful insight from the writers and producers of TAGS that you won’t find in other places.
We’ll play some trivia and have some fun along the way.

I was running through some old videos I have and found a wonderful clip of James Best and David Browning from Mayberry Days 2007. I shared this video back on episode #442 of Two Chairs No Waiting but it has been 5 years so I thought you might not have seen it and it is certainly worth viewing again.
I also found a couple of other clips from Mayberry Days past that I know you’ll love.

As I was thinking about The Andy Griffith Show and what it’s meant to me over the years it came to me that I’ve never talked about what I’m thankful for related to Mayberry.
Of course we’re all thankful that Andy created the town of Mayberry for us all to visit each week but there’s so much more to give thanks for. Let’s spend a few minutes talking about just some of the wonderful things that Mayberry has given us and brought into our lives.
