You are in for a treat the next few weeks as we’ll be listening to and interview with Two Chair No Waiting’s resident Mayberry History expert, Randy Turner. The interview was originally aired on Yesterday USA (https://yesterdayusa.net/). Yesterday USA is a streaming radio station with the purpose of preserving and presenting the history of old time radio shows. They also interview folks with connection to classic television and other topics. Yesterday USA is operated by an all-volunteer staff.
The host of this interview is Walden Hughes with co-hosts Patricia and Dan.
This part of Randy’s interview goes into an overview of the series, why the show endures, Frances Bavier’s relationship with the cast and her retirement to Siler City, Betty Lynn’s retirement to Mt. Airy, Randy’s favorite characters, and wrap up with discussion of The Dillards.
This is part 1 of 3 episodes so come back next time for more of this amazing interview.

Wow…we’ve made it to 700 episodes of Two Chairs No Waiting and folks are still listening/watching! I want to thank all of you for spending time with me each week here in Mayberry so we can talk about our hometown. It’s almost like therapy to loose myself in the town of Mayberry each week and spend time with you, my fellow townsfolk, and share a laugh. Thank you for being here and supporting me.
This week, we’ll hear from fellow fans via voicemail. We have one that’ll kick thinks off talking about Ellen Brown and what color her dress is at the beginning of “The Manicurist.” Is is black or gray? We also hear from several other folks with wonderful observations and comments. Thanks to all of those that called in and left messages.
We’ll wrap up with SpiritWalker and his “Returning to Mayberry” segment as he works to complete a chain of connection between episodes. Wow, he does a lot of research so y’all dig him because he digs you.
