Welcome to episode twenty five of the Mayberry Devotional, entitled “But I Need It,” In today’s episode, I’m going to look at Episode 23 of The Andy Griffith Show, Andy and Opie; Housekeepers and I’ll use Scripture from Philippians 4:19.
Looking back, the last episode I dedicated to listener feedback was almost a year ago in Two Chairs #577 (April 14, 2020). I’ve been trying to fit feedback into portions of other episodes in the mean time but I thought it was time to focus and hear from you.
We have a lot of written feedback from YouTube and the TwoChairsNoWaiting.com website for this show and on bit of voicemail as well. Topics vary but they’re all Mayberry so lets have some fun!
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “The Danny Thomas Show.”

Welcome to episode twenty five of the 5 Minute Mayberry Devotional, entitled “ Honesty is the Best Policy. ” In today’s episode, I’m going to look at Episode 22 of The Andy Griffith Show, Cyrano Andy and I’ll use Scripture from Psalm 34:13.
The actors, actresses, and writers of The Andy Griffith Show were most certainly genius in their craft. Some characters only appeared in a very few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show but their impact has made fans feel like they were in most every episode. That’s the genius of the show. Mayberry is like a “real” place to the fans and the people there are always around, even if we don’t always see them.
Isn’t that amazing? That we feel like the entire town is populated with all the townsfolk even when in many episodes we only see five or six of them. Genius is what it is.
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Howard McNear Part 2.”

Welcome to episode twenty four of the 5 Minute Mayberry Devotional, entitled “Do not be Fooled” In today’s episode, I’m going to look at Episode 21 of The Andy Griffith Show, Andy and the Gentleman Crook and I’ll use Scripture from Romans 16:18.
On episode 615, I talked about the world needing more Mayberry so this week I wanted to challenge us all to try and spread that Mayberry spirit to others. I know that I’ve been blessed by folks reaching out to me and just saying, “I was thinking about you” so what would happen if all of us did that?
In Mayberry, folks checked on their neighbors when they hadn’t heard from them in a while. They’d drop by to see how they were doing or maybe have Sarah phone them so they could make sure they were okay. We have so many ways to communicate with each other these days and yet we still find reasons not to take time and do just that.
Let’s try and see what impact we might have on our friends and family if we act a little more like we’re from a small town.
We also share a laugh from Mayberry Days 2004 with a short clip of The Mayberry Deputy and Floyd killing time on stage before the start of the VW Boys concert.
