This episode goes back to Floyd the barber sitting outside the barber shop reading “Floyd’s Barber Shop News” to us all. He shares news from the Mayberry Gazette to make your day a little more bright. Hopefully this will bring a smile and warm your heart.
The stories cover topics fans of The Andy Griffith Show should recognize and they may give you additional insight into the happenings around Mayberry.

The 8th annual Mayberry Meet-up was held in Mt. Airy, NC the weekend of 17-19 July 2020. There were 75+ in attendance and there were challenges to be able to gather because of the covid-19 virus situation but we did meet. Folks “social distanced” and even wore mask when needed. Anything to get just a few days together in Mayberry.
This episode is a report about the goings on that occurred during the weekend.
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Rockne Tarkington.”

During this episode we’ll hear from “Floyd the barber” with his reading of the Mayberry Gazette that we like to call “Floyd’s Barber Shop News.” Floyd lets us drop by the barber shop and sit out front with him as he waits on customers to come along while he reads the paper. Headline include “Town Picnic Goes Batty,” “Dr. Breen’s Sermon topic this Week,” “Potato Salad Shortage Reported in Mayberry,” and more.
After Randy’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History featuring “Keith Andes,” I’ll finish up by talking about the Mayberry Meet-up 2020 with a few details about the event.
