This is a January, 1954, article about Andy Griffith and his wife, Barbara Edwards, that appeared in “The State” magazine. The state is North Carolina, and the articles pertain to people and places around the state. It’s been published since 1933, and is still published today, although a number of years ago the name changed to “Our State.”
Randy Turner presents another of this wonderful “The Week in Mayberry History” reports. This week is part 2 of his report on “Jack Prince.”
We’ll finish up playing some trivia. It’ gonna be fun so jump in where you can and hang on.

It’s time to start making plans to attend a Mayberry related gathering in the coming year. This episode we’ll go over the 2023 events that we currently know about so you can ask for days off from work as early as possible. You need to watch the Event Calendar on iMayberry.com for the latest updates on both existing events and new events that pop up throughout the year.
Randy Turner presents another of this wonderful “The Week in Mayberry History” reports. This one is part 1 of a three part series related to Jack Prince (Rafe Holister) and I know you’ll love the information Randy is able to provide.
Listener Lorie Niswonger sent in some fun Mayberry trivia for us to play this episode so we’ll wrap up with that.
It’s a BIG episode and I know you’re going to enjoy it.

We’re starting this episode off with the wrap up of Randy Turner’s “This Week in Mayberry History” report on the 40 Acres backlot. He started it last week so if you miss it, go back and give it a listen.
I was inspired by Randy’s report to dig into The Andy Griffith Show episode from season 4 called “Hot Rod Otis.” You might have thought that given the shows title this week.
There are some great moments in this episode and we’ll touch on a few and may even be able to tell you something you’ve never noticed. At a minimum, it’ll give you something to watch for the next time it runs across your television screen.

Welcome to episode 90 of the Mayberry Devotional entitled “Doomed To Fail.” Today I’ll be looking at season three, episode twenty-three of The Andy Griffith Show, “Andy Discovers America”. And I’ll also be looking at Scripture from Psalms 78:11.
“They forgot his works and the wonders that he had shown them.” (ESV)
The show we’re going to go back and give another think to some of the topics we covered in the last few episodes. They raise questions and created comments that are well worth talking about.
In one case, I answered a question from an audience member incorrectly so I’m going to correct the answer. My thanks to Randy Turner for pointing out the correct answer that is found in his “Mayberry Firsts” book (found at WeaversDepartmentStore).
We’ll also hear from a couple of folks about if knowing more changes how they watch episodes of The Andy Griffith Show.
To clear the palate, we’ll do a few Mayberry trivia questions.
We have an installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Hal Smith” part 2 to wrap up the Mayberry fun.

In this time when life has been so strange and stressful, I think it’s important to try and keep things in perspective with a Mayberry state of mind. When I say that phrase, “Mayberry state of mind,” what do you think of? A simpler time maybe? A more relaxed time when family was the focus of our lives?
Let’s talk about that and look to a quote from a recent movie that I believe said it very well.
We’ll play some “fun” trivia. By “fun” I mean questions that are not to hard.
This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring “Lurene Tuttle” part 5 is the 250th installment.
