I’ve talked about Opie before on the show but I don’t know if I’ve ever talked much about Ron Howard. Randy Turner inspired me to dig up a little more information about Ron Howard and Opie because of this weeks history report. I enjoyed learning more and I’m sure you will as well.
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring Ron Howard.

Continuing our series of episodes getting to know the people of Mayberry, we move along to Andy Taylor’s son. Who is Opie Taylor? Let’s find out.
Also, we’ll check out a 2006 article called “Pickups & Splashes from Floor and Pool” that I found while searching the web for that title recently. I was surprised to find an actual column in a newspaper titled the same as Barney’s column in the school paper.
