Plot Summary The Bookie Barber: Floyd gets his chance at being a proprietor of a two-chair shop when semi-retired barber Bill Medwin arrives with a proposition of expansion. Floyd jumps at the chance since Medwin promises to supply the chair and the customers. As it turns out, the barber is a bookie, and Barney jumps in to bust the criminal.

Plot Summary Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee:
Aunt Bee’s friend Clara convinces her that she is preventing her widowed nephew Andy from remarrying. Feeling like a burden, Aunt Bee reluctantly begins seeing Mayberry’s dry cleaner, Mr. Fred Goss, who has shown romantic interest in her. She pursues the relationship mainly as a pretense to demonstrate her independence and “free” Andy to find a wife of his own.
Mr. Goss is eager but awkward—he talks incessantly about his dry-cleaning business and has several off-putting habits. This leads to a series of comedic misunderstandings as Aunt Bee struggles to maintain the charade. Andy remains patient and supportive throughout. The episode resolves with gentle reassurance that Aunt Bee’s presence in the home is valued and that she does not need to sacrifice her own happiness for his. Plot Summary The Merchant of Mayberry:
Mean old Ben Weaver goes on a rampage when Bert Miller, a traveling salesman, stops in Mayberry. Weaver demands Miller be taken off the street for not complying with a Mayberry law that prohibits anyone from selling goods without a permanent structure. Andy, out to have a little fun, decides to settle the matter in his own way by helping Bert build a nice little stand in a vacant lot down the street, setting off a trade war between Bert’s and Weaver’s Department Store. Ben finally gives in and decides the best way to eliminate the competition is to put him to work in his own store.
