Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

This episode is actually about news of the week.  It was hard to ignore that Mayberry’s very own Betty “Thelma Lou” Lynn was robbed this past week so tonight I’ll be giving you a report about that AND an update from Ms Lynn about how she’s doing.

We’re also going to talk about the fact that CBS will be sponsoring an actual NASCAR commemorative racecar paying tribute to The Andy Griffith Show’s 50th Anniversary! That’s BIG!

Great show,
It goes to show that we are all vulberable at some point in our lives to this crime stuff. Thank goodness she has such a strong spirit and good support in her home town. This was such an unbelievable thing to here this. Thanks for the show.

I appreciated your bringing us the interview with Betty Lynn regarding her robbery. How sad that it should happen in Mt. Airy. Sad that it should happen anywhere. I wonder if the guy knew who she was. I would doubt it. It is always hard for me to see some of our beloved Mayberry folks in their twilight years of life. So few things every change in Mayberry so when I see the stars in real life time it comes as a shock and reality check regarding my own age.

I’m very sorry that Betty was robbed, and I don’t mean to make light of her experience, but when I was listening to the audio of her describing it, and she said the man pushed her, I couldn’t help but think about Floyd. In the episode where Andy was considering taking a job offer in Raleigh, Barney was spearheading an effort to get Andy to stay in Mayberry. As Floyd was telling Andy about the (fake) robbery in the barber shop, he said, “He pushed me. He pushed me real hard. He assaulted me.” And, of course, the *way* Floyd says it is what makes it so funny. So when Betty said the man pushed her, I could just hear Floyd saying these lines.
