Two Chairs No Waiting

Mayberry Days 2010 was BIG!  Big may not even be the word for it but the crowds were large and the folks friendly all over Mt. Airy, NC in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Andy Griffith Show (TAGS).

October 3, 2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the airing of the first episode of TAGS and Mt. Airy began the celebration with style. Let celebrate on this episode of Two Chairs No Waiting the memory of Mayberry Days 2010 and the end of the podcast’s 2nd year!

Jim Clark, Presiding Goober of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club (TAGSRWC), pointed out to me that this episode is 104 or 10-4 (as Barney might say it).  The fun thing is that as I record the date is 10/4/2010 so I’m recording episode 10-4 on 10-4. Thanks, Jim, for making sure I knew that.

I hope you’ll sit down and enjoy a few minutes in Mayberry as we kick off the 50th anniversary year and remember so good times from Mayberry Days 2010.

I just kept on talking this episode so it is a little long. Sorry for that.  I’ll try to curb them hotflashes for the next year of podcasts.

Great job on relating to everyone what a fun festival Mayberry Days is. I love talking with the impersonators, throwing lines from TAGS at them and watching them go into character. Everyone is in the Mayberry spirit and it is such a well organized event. And of course it is really special to get to meet some of the people that were part of TAGS. Already looking forward to next year!

Enjoyed this segment and browsed the photos while listenting to this. Good Good Good! 10-4 Over and Under ! Funny thing…..I have watched every show over and over and over and very familiar with them, I can recall scene after scene after scene, but I am no good at answering trivia questions…go figure!
